Abstract(s)
The technological revolution in Endodontics occurred with the development of the nickel-titanium alloy, impelling the development of faster and more efficient techniques in endodontic treatment. New mechanized instrumentation methodologies were developed with the aim of improving the time and quality of procedures compared to manual systems. The objectives of this work are the evaluation of the Ni-Ti alloys, Ni-Ti M-Wire and Ni-Ti thermal treatment, the evaluation of the main differences between manual and mechanized instrumentation and the deepening of knowledge regarding the ProTaper® machined system. A bibliographic search was carried out on digital platforms (PubMed and Science Direct). From the elaborated research, it is concluded that manual and mechanized instrumentation are similar, and the latter presents with the advantages of reducing consultation time and discomfort, both for the dentist and for the patient. The ProTaper® system presents a viable solution, with several options that can be adjusted for each case.
