Abstract(s)
O
inicio
da
aprendizagem
do
saxofone
no
ensino
especializado
de
música,
por
crianças
até
aos
dez
anos,
do
meu
ponto
de
vista,
é
ainda
bastante
complexo.
Reparei
no
início
da
minha
atividade
de
docente,
que
existe
alguma
relutância
em
iniciar
o
ensino
do
saxofone
em
crianças
pequenas,
na
escola
onde
leciono
-‐
Conservatório
-‐
Escola
Profissional
das
Artes
da
Madeira
(CEPAM)
-‐
apesar
de
haver
um
esforço
cada
vez
maior
para
as
cativar
a
aprender
o
saxofone.
No
intuito
de
dar
a
conhecer
o
saxofone
-‐
assim
como
os
restantes
instrumentos
de
música
-‐
a
escola
desenvolve
dois
projetos,
nos
quais
participo:
o
atelier
musical,
onde
os
professores
de
instrumento
vão
à
sala
de
iniciação
musical
(turmas)
para
demonstrar
o
instrumento,
pelo
menos
duas
vezes
ao
ano
letivo.
O
segundo
projeto
denomina-‐se
a
descoberta
da
música:
um
grupo
de
professores
do
CEPAM
desloca-‐se
às
escolas
de
ensino
regular
básico,
para
uma
demonstração
e
interatividade
da
escola
e
instrumentos
que
se
lecionam.
Não
obstante
o
sucesso
destes
projetos,
continua
a
ser
em
diminuta
a
escolha
do
saxofone,
no
ato
de
inscrição
nesta
escola.
Tendo
em
conta
esta
realidade,
pretendo
com
esta
investigação,
identificar
alguns
factores
relacionados
com
este
problema,
e
através
desses
obter
respostas
e
desmistificar
o
ensino
do
saxofone
no
grau
de
iniciação
musical,
no
ensino
especializado
da
música,
factores
esses
como
a
motivação
intrínseca
e
extrínseca
como
influência
para
prosseguir
o
estudo
do
instrumento;
o
peso/tamanho
do
saxofone
versus
corpo/tamanho/idade
da
criança;
a
falta
de
repertório
adequado
a
este
nível
de
ensino.
Abstract: Based on the interest of understanding children’s motivation to begin saxophone learning in children up to 10 years old, in the music school where I teach: Conservatory -‐ Professional School of Arts Madeira (CEPAM), in Madeira Island, this research project aims to find out the principal denominating factors that are crucial to this motivation. In order to make known the saxophone -‐ as well as other musical instruments -‐ the school is developing two projects in which participate: the Atelier Musical, where the instrument teacher’s go to the classroom where small children have introduction to music -‐ to demonstrate the instrument at least twice in a school year. The second project is called Descoberta da Música: formed by a group of CEPAM teacher’s whom goes to random elementary schools, to demonstrate the instruments that are taught at CEPAM. Despite the success of these projects, there is still a minority of children choosing the saxophone, at the enrolment act, in this school. Given this reality, it is intended with this investigation essentially to understand factors related to this problem, and through these factors get answers and demystify the saxophone teaching concerning small children. Such factors as intrinsic and extrinsic motivation influences to pursue the study of the instrument; the weight/ size of the saxophone in parallel to the body/size/age of the child; the lack of repertoire suitable for this level of education.
