Abstract(s)
This paper describes the development of the Project ANIMA – Cuidar Melhor, which was implemented in the Domiciliary Support Service of the Association of Social Development of A-dos-Negros, a field program for the elderly. In a primordial stage, home visits were carried out in order to update the individual processes of the association’s clients. The information needed for the participant’s selection was then verified, taking into account who could benefit from the project according to some criteria (isolation and solitude, lack of physical and cognitive stimulation, benefit of the caregiver and the patient in a short-term response). In the end, five clients were selected for the intervention itself, considering their needs and also those of their families. This project intended to assist users and families in stimulating their physical and cognitive abilities.
