Waste treatment is one of the biggest challenges for developing countries and, above all, in cities with high population density, such as Luanda. The excess of garbage is responsible a source of mosquitoes that are the main agents of diseases such as malaria, which put in danger the public health of Luandans. Measures for collection, treatment and recycling of waste have already been implemented in the past, waste treatment has systematically been passed on to private companies. Although there is a significant increase in garbage disposal, the solutions implemented by the Angolan government between 2003 and 2007 did not have significant effects. The answers to this problem lie in the creation of sustainable and innovative solutions, such as the creation of plants that transform "Waste to Energy (WTE)", a mechanism used to transform waste into energy. This solution, if successfully implemented, will be able to respond to electricity problems in the suburbs and in the poorest areas of Luanda. In addition to sustainability, WTE solutions will allow the government to have greater control over urban waste and increase revenues from energy production. I conclude that this will be the perfect mechanism for the city of Luanda because the suggestions brought by me aim to improve the quality of life of the population of Luanda
