Resumo
O presente estudo tem como tema “A Autoestima dos docentes de Educação Física e Português do 2º e 3 º ciclo do ensino Básico”.
Visa analisar a motivação dos docentes destes grupos disciplinares e perceber de que forma estes se encontram satisfeitos profissionalmente.
Como instrumento de recolha de dados, foi aplicado um questionário - Escala de Autoestima Profissional – E.A.P (Leitão, 2012), a uma amostra total de 117 Professores (64 de Português e 53 de Educação Física). Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, tendo-se procedido a uma análise descritiva e a uma análise inferencial, utilizando desta forma o Teste T-Student e Teste de Levene.
Os resultados encontrados evidenciam que não existem diferenças significativas entre os grupos disciplinares referidos, verificando-se que ambos apresentam valores elevados relativos às quatro dimensões estudadas (Sentimento de Competência e Capacidade; Satisfação Pessoal nas relações profissionais; Perceção do Reconhecimento pelos outros colegas e Satisfação na Relação com os alunos). No entanto, embora não exista significância nas hipóteses estudadas, em todas elas o grupo disciplinar de Educação Física apresenta médias ligeiramente superiores.
The present study has as its theme "Self-esteem of teachers of Physical Education and Portuguese 2nd and 3rd cycle of Basic Education." Aims to analyze the motivation of the teachers of these disciplinary groups and realize if these are professionally satisfied. As an instrument of data collection, it was given a questionnaire - Professional Self-Esteem Scale – EAP (Leitão, 2012), to a total sample of 117 teachers (64 Portuguese teachers and 53 Physical Education teachers). This is a quantitative study, having proceeded to a descriptive and inferential analysis, thus using the Student t-test and the Levene's test. The results show that there are no significant differences between the subject groups mentioned, verifying that both show high values for the four dimensions studied (Sense of Competence and Capacity, Personal Satisfaction in Professional Relationships; Perception of Recognition by Colleagues and Satisfaction in Relationship with Students). However, although there is no significance in the cases studied, in all of them, Physical Education disciplinary group presents averages slightly higher.
