& Esteves, 2014) e a Depression, anexiety and stress scale (Alves, Carvalho, Baptista, S/D).

A sample of 478 participants was gathered, 350 males and 126 females with an age range from 18 to 62 years old (M=32.63; DP=9.320). This sample filled an inquiry composed by Maslach Burnout Inventory – Human Service Survey, () a scale measuring positive and negative affects (Galinha, Pereira & Esteves, 2014) and the Depression, anxiety and stress scale (Alves, Carvalho, Baptista, S/D). It was observed that male respondents appear to have higher levels of despersonalization when compared to female respondents. It was verified, as well, that voluntary firefighters show more anxiety than professional ones, while accounting positive and negative affects. Lastly, it was seen that professional firemen feel more accomplished than voluntary firemen.
