Resumo
O presente trabalho tem por escopo o resgate histórico e o registro da vida do Coronel Firmo de Araújo Pereira no que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento da cidadania dos habitantes de um município sob o enfoque político. Analisa as ações e façanhas do Coronel à frente da administração municipal por duas décadas e o reflexo dessas atitudes nos dias atuais. Para tanto, são levantados dados sobre a vida política e familiar do líder evidenciando, mediante análise de documentos e depoimentos, a origem de sua influência no Estado de Minas Gerais. Estabelece-se um quadro teórico capaz de demonstrar as diferenças entre liderança, autoritarismo, totalitarismo, coronelismo e cidadania, destacando o caráter empreendedor, influente e principais façanhas políticas desenvolvidas. Finalmente o estudo relata como está hoje o município mineiro focalizado e o que herdou da “Era do Coronel Firmo de Araújo”, concluindo que seus atos trouxeram benefícios à construção da cidade e o desenvolvimento da cidadania de nosso povo.
The scope of this work is a historical record of the life and the Colonel Firmo de Araújo Pereira regarding the development of citizenship of the inhabitants of a municipality under the policy focus. Analyzes the actions and exploits of Colonel ahead of the municipal administration for two decades and the reflection of these attitudes today. Therefore , data are collected on the political life of the family and leader demonstrating , through analysis of documents and interviews , the source of his influence in the state of Minas Gerais. Establishes a theoretical framework able to demonstrate the differences between leadership , authoritarianism , totalitarianism , colonels and Citizenship , highlighting the entrepreneurial character , influential and major policies developed exploits . Finally the study reports how the city is now focused miner and he inherited the "Era of Colonel Firmus de Araújo ," concluding that his actions have brought benefits to the city building and citizenship development of our people .
