Abstrakt
Valdav osa kliimapoliitika ja -teaduse uutest mõistetest ja terminitest jõuab eesti
keelde inglise keele vahendusel.
dokumenteerida. Eestikeelsete terminiteni jõudmiseks kombineeriti teaduskirjanduse
ülevaade, keelekorpuste põhine kontentanalüüs, mõistepõhine veebiküsitlus ja
poolstruktureeritud intervjuud valdkonna ekspertidega. Kokku pakuti magistritöös välja 28
eestikeelset terminit ja kaks üldkeele sõna. Kahe mõiste puhul on hea termini omadustele
vastavate terminite loomiseks vaja teha edasist uurimistööd, kus analüüsitakse põhjalikult ka
nende kasutamise konteksti.
Most new concepts and terms in climate policy and politics as well as climate sciences first appear in English as it is the dominant language in the field. The development of relevant terminology in Estonian lags behind and requires systematic local terminology work. The aim of this master’s thesis was to propose at least 20 terms relevant for climate policy, politics and science in Estonian that are as much as possible are characterised by the qualities traditionally attributed to good terms; and to document the terminology work process in detail. A total of 28 Estonian terms and two words suitable for general language were proposed in the thesis. In the case of two concepts, further research is needed to determine their fields of meaning and use in context in order to determine entirely suitable terms for them.
