This folder contains remarks given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye to the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union, AFL-CIO. In this speech Inouye asks the labor movement to pay attention to current and ongoing legislation. He also addresses allegations against the labor movement for problems with demands, problems with the U.S.'s economic decline, and depictions of the labor movement as filled with criminals. Inouye argues against these allegations and gives examples of times in which the labor movement has been the catalyst for social and economic progress over the years.
