Abstract
This is the text of a policy statement adopted by the Governing Council of the American Public Health Association on 17 Nov 1982. The Association commends the efforts of family planning clinics to encourage parental involvement in the decisions of adolescent clients regarding the use of contraceptives, but "strongly opposes policies requiring parental consent or notification as a qualification of minors for initial or continued receipt of prescription contraceptives."
