An attempt is therefore made to constitute certain dimensions of content, frame and activity, with the help of a certain structure, to serve as a guideline for the orientation of every person to self-knowledge with respect to his individual personality qualities, expectancies and personal aims on the one hand, and labour exertion, career choice and professional life on the other hand
A possible administrative and organisational structure for an accountable counselling program in Namibia is postulated. Some criteria concerning curriculum development, the content for counselling in the primary and secondary school, the identification and training of prospective counsellors and the content of career information are also discussed
Finally one possible sample of a computer-aided job identification medium - for use in the senior secondary school - is offered, which can be used to identify suitable occupations according to a person's personality, expectancies and personal abilities
The conclusion is reached that an accountable counselling programme can make an important contribution to the development of a country's human resources
