Análisis del desarrollo y contribución de la guitarra de siete cuerdas (Violao sete cordas) en las músicas populares de carácter urbano en Rio de Janeiro durante los siglo XIX y XX

Abstract

[eng] The choro is a movement of musical expression of the carioca popular cul-ture born at the end of the 19th century as a result of the development of European genres executed in a syncopated way by the African influence and as a need for its own Brazilian national identity. Besides, and due to its popular na-ture, it also was intended for the practice of dance. It was consolidated as a musical genre in the first decades of the 20th century, mainly to the wide diffusion during the so called Radio Era (1930-1945) through an instrumental formation that became known as a regional ensemble. Among the main ensembles of the time, the Regional of Benedito Lacerada stands out, due to the importance of two of its members, Pixinguinha , Dino Sete Cordas and Raphael Rabello, the latter being the greatest developer of the 7-string guitar, which is the main subject of this work.
