Abstract: |
These notes entitled "Combined Prosthetics: Precision Attachments-Telescopic Systems", are intended to introduce the student to the subject of precision attachments and double crowns (telescopic and conical). The reason for writing the book was our teaching experience for many years in the course of Combined Prosthodontics at the Department of Dental Technology of the former TEI of Athens and today University of West Attica , where the difficulties and special scientific requirements of this subject were identified. On this base a considerable effort was made to present the material with the most fully and simply way, so that it can be understood by the students of the Department. Emphasis was placed on listing the various techniques in as much detail as, possible given that the fabrication of combined prosthodontics is a delicate and complex task, the success of which it relies on the precision and detail of construction. Obviously this book intended for educational purposes, cannot to contain all the techniques used to apply the attachments, without exception, referred to the Greek or foreign language literature. Nevertheless, the basic techniques are discussed, through which the student is introduced to the topic of precision attachments and telescopic constructions, in order for the student to acquire the basic knowledge for their application and familiarizes himself with their use.
