Resumo
Esta tese tem como objetivo principal problematizar e trazer à tona a discussão: quem é o artista e por que ele cria Arte? A hipótese é a de que a produção artística é inerente e biologicamente necessária ao ser humano, e que o processo criativo do desenvolvimento de obras artísticas estrutura o artista como indivíduo, assim como a Arte é estruturada por ele. Foram encontrados três caminhos que corroboram a necessidade biológica da Arte: evolução da espécie, auto-organização do sujeito e regulação da vida. A escolha de se aproximar do artista pelo ponto de vista biológico se deu devido à possibilidade de um ângulo não usual na observação do propositor de Arte. São usados, principalmente, aspectos das neurociências e áreas afins para se apresentar, então, os caminhos que levam a considerar a causa da necessidade de se desenvolver Arte.
This thesis 's main goal is to promote a discussion regarding the question: who is the artist and why does he create Art? The hypothesis offered is that artistic production is inherent, as well as biologically necessary, to the human condition, and the creative process behind the development of artistic works structures the artist as an individual, as much as Art itself is structured by him. Three pathways have been identified which corroborate the biological need for Art: the species's evolution, the subject's self -organization and the regulation of life. The choice to approach the artist from a biological point of view was made due to the fact that it offers an unusual perspective from which to observe Art's creators. The causes for the need to develop Art are presented in light of neurosciences and related areas.
