Strategies of rendering realia and literary stylization techniques in the translation of E. Vodolazkin's novel "Laurus" into Romanian

Abstract

Исследование посвящено выявлению основных стратегий передачи реалий и приёмов стилизации художественного текста в единственном существующем на данный момент переводе романа Е.Г. Водолазкина «Лавр» на румынский язык. В работе анализируется уместность выбора тех или иных стратегий переводчиком; выявляются сильные и слабые стороны текста перевода; предлагается, если это возможно, иной способ передачи той или иной лексической единицы.The study is focused on the identification of the main strategies of conveying realia and stylization techniques of a literary text in the only currently existing translation of E. Vodolazkin's novel "Laurus" into Romanian. The paper analyzes the appropriateness of the translator's choice of particular strategies; highlights the advantages and disadvantages of the translation; suggests, if possible, a different way of conveying a certain lexical unit.
