| Abstract: | O experimento um foi realizado para avaliar e comparar o consumo de matéria seca, energia e proteína de cinco dietas experimentais para Callithrix penicillata. Foram utilizados 30 sagüis-de-tufo-preto sexados, distribuídos ao acaso em cinco tratamentos em dois períodos experimentais distintos, caracterizando um delineamento em blocos ao acaso. Os resultados permitem concluir que houve uma grande variação no consumo de matéria seca por kg de peso metabólico, que variou entre 40,15 a 47,54g por dia. Aparentemente, não houve o controle da ingestão pela energia. A palatabilidade pode ter sido o fator principal na regulação do consumo, evidenciando a grande importância desta no consumo voluntário e no desenvolvimento de rações para os Callitrichideos. O consumo de energia bruta por kg de peso metabólico foi muito superior quando comparado aos outros trabalhos encontrados. O experimento dois teve como objetivo determinar e comparar digestibilidade aparente de nutrientes de dietas completas e avaliar nutricionalmente os alimentos protéicos utilizados para C. penicillata. Foram utilizados 30 sagüis-de-tufo-preto (C. penicillata) sexados, distribuídos ao acaso em cinco tratamentos em dois períodos experimentais distintos, caracterizando um delineamento em blocos ao acaso. Foram testados quatro alimentos protéicos inclusos na ração referência, na percentagem de inclusão de 29,25% da matéria natural. Os alimentos testados foram: farelo de soja, soja micronizada, levedura de cerveja e farinha de vísceras. Não foram encontradas diferençasestatísticas significativas entre os alimentos para energia digestível aparente, coeficiente de digestibilidade de matéria seca e proteína. No entanto, todos os alimentos testados apresentaram altos coeficientes de digestibilidade, podendo ser considerados como boas opções para a composição de dietas para C. penicillata. |
| Abstract: | The experiment one was conducted to evaluate and compare the consumption of dry matter energy and protein of five experimental diets for Callithrix penicillata. We used 30 blacktufted-ear-marmoset (Callithrix penicillata) sexed, distributed randomly into five experimental treatments in two different periods, featuring a design in randomized blocks. Four aliments included in the reference ration were tested, on the percentage of 29,25% of the natural matter. The tested aliments were: soybean meal, micronized soybean, and beer yeast and poultry by-products. The results show that there was a large variation in consumption of dry matter per kg of metabolic weight, which ranged from 40,15 to 47,54 g per day. Apparently, there was no control of ingestion by the energy. The palatability may have been the main factor in the regulation of consumption, emphasizing the importance of the voluntary intake and the development of diets for Callitrichideos. The gross consumption of energy per kg of metabolic weight was much higher when compared toother studies found. The experiment two aimed to determine and compare the nutrient digestibility of diets and assess nutritionally complete food protein used for C. penicillata. We used 30 black-tufted-ear-marmoset (C. penicillata) sexed, distributed randomly into five experimental treatments in two different periods, featuring a design in randomized blocks. Four aliments included in the reference ration were tested, on the percentage of 29,25% of the natural matter. The tested aliments were: soybean meal, micronized soybean, and beer yeast and poultry by-products. There were no statistically significantdifferences between the aliments for apparent digestible of energy, digestibility coefficient of dry matter and protein. However, all foods tested showed high digestibility coefficients, can be considered as good options for the composition of diets for C. penicillata. |
