Abstract: As warehouses operate in a competitive environment, this research plan discusses the order picking process in a warehouse. In order to reduce the order picker travel time per order, orders can be batched and the warehouse can be divided into different zones. Furthermore an improved workforce planning can contribute to an effective and effcient order picking process.
