Abstract
This slide set draws from recent research (1992-2008) to discuss the impact of home visitation for pregnant women on intimate partner violence (IPV). It reviews research and statistics on IPV and pregnancy and its health effects on both mothers and infants. It then shows initial results of the “DOVE” Domestic Violence Enhanced Home Visitation Program, an empowerment intervention during pregnancy and post-delivery aimed at reducing IPV, describing challenges of intervention delivery.
