Abstract

The「Survey on Foreign Worker Employment」 was conducted to provide essential data in establishing directions for policy on foreign workers by investigating their employment conditions. The survey is composed of data collected from companies employing foreign workers and foreign workers themselves. This is the survey conducted among foreign workers.
The questionnaire is composed of contents on the process of employment, characteristics of employed company, employment and working conditions, and opinion on policies on foreign workers. The section on the process of employment and characteristics of employed company include eligibility for sojourn, amount paid to overseas employment agency, size of company, occupation, sojourn status, reason and channel of illegal secession, intention of job change, evaluation of internship management company, plans for sojourn, and residential environment. The section on employment and working conditions include questions on main task, average monthly wage, work hours, workman’s accident compensation and health insurance, job satisfaction, industrial injuries, and relations within the workplace and the section on opinions of policies on foreign workers include employment license system, and points of improvement on foreign worker policies.
