Abstract
Siyer Yazarı Oryantalistler içerisinde önemli bir şahsiyet olan Tor Julias Efraim Andrae (1885-1946), Dinler Tarihçisi ve İsveç Luteryan Kilisesi’nin Piskoposudur. Andrae, pek çok çalışmalara imza atmış, tarihçiliği ön plana çıkmış, özellikle dinler tarihi ve dinî psikoloji üzerinde yoğunlaşırken Hz.Muhammed (s.a.s) hakkında ihtisaslaşmış ve bu konuda orijinal fikirler ortaya koymuştur. Bazıları tezimiz açısından daha fazla önem arzeden ve pek çok dile çevrilen bu eserlerden özellikle ikisi; “Muhammed; The Man and His Faith ” ve “Die Person Muhammeds in Lehre und Glauben Seiner Gemeinde” onun en özgün ve sahasında önemli yer tutan eserleridir. Tor Andrae ve benzeri oryantalistlerin fikirlerinin bilinmesi, Müslüman ilim adamları tarafından eserlerinin değerlendirilmesi, gerektiği zaman reddiyeler yazılması pek çok açıdan önem arzetmektedir. Bu tez bir reddiye değil, değerlendirmedir. Andrae’nin Hz. Peygamber hakkındaki müspet veya menfi fikir ve yaklaşımlarını tespit etmek, ilim yolcularının, Türk ve İslâm dünyasının istifadesine sunmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır Tezimiz bir giriş, altı bölüm ve bir sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde oryantalizmin tarihi gelişimi, Tor Andrae dönemi, onun hayatı ve eserleri ele alınmaktadır. Birinci bölümün konusu, vahiy öncesi Hz. Muhammed’dir. İkinci bölüm, Hz. Muhammed’in vahiy doktrini ve Kur’an başlığını taşımakta ve üç alt başlıktan oluşmaktadır. Bu alt başlıklar şunlardır: Hz. Muhammed’in Peygamberliği, Hz. Muhammed’in vahiy doktrini ve Tor Andrae’nin Kur’an’a bakışı. Üçüncü bölüm, Hz. Muhammed’in dinî mesajını ele almaktadır. Dördüncü bölüm Hz. Muhammed’in siyasi ve idari faaliyetleri başlığı ile onun Kureyş ile mücadelesi ve devlet idaresini ortaya koymaktadır. Hz. Muhammed’in şahsiyeti beşinci bölümün konusudur. Altıncı bölüm değerlendime bölümü olup onu takip eden sonuç bölümü ile tezimiz sona ermektedir. Çalışmamızın sonuç kısmında genel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Kaynakça kısmında bulunan İngilizce, Türkçe, Almanca, Arapça, Fransızca, eser, makale ve ansiklopedilerden ve bazı internet sitelerinden istifade edilmiştir. Tezimizi yazarken olabildiğince objektif olmaya ve empati yapmaya gayret ettik. Tezimizin, İslâm Tarihi başta olmak üzere diğer ilim dallarında yapılacak çalışmalara, insanlığın barış ve huzuruna en az bir katkısı bile bizi sevindirecektir. Benzeri çalışmalara örnek olması da ayrıca temennimizdir. Abstract Tor Julias Efraim Andrae (1885-1946), a very important figure among the orientalist Sira writers, is a Historian of Religions and the Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Sweden. Andrae, has accomplished a great number of works however he comes forth, more than anything, as a historian focusing especially on the history of religions and religious psychology. In this field, he has specialized on Mohammed (pbuh) and has put forward some original ideas about this subject. Some of these have more importance in terms of this thesis; of his works that have been translated into many languages, particularly two; "Mohammed; The Man and His Faith" and "Die Person Muhammeds in Lehre und Glauben Seiner Gemeinde" stand out as his most original and prominent works in the field. The understanding of the ideas of Tor Andrae and other similar orientalists, the evaluation of their work by Muslim scholars, and the writing of refutations when necessary is important in many ways. This thesis is not a refutation but an evaluation. This thesis aims at determining Andrae's positive or negative ideas about and approaches to Mohammed and putting these at the disposal of the Turkish and Islamic world as well as men of science. The thesis consists of one introduction, six chapters and a conclusion. The introduction chapter deals with Orientalism and its historical development and the period of Tor Andrae, his life and works. The subject of the first chapter is Prophet Mohammed prior to revelation. The second chapter is titled “The Revelation Doctrine of Prophet Mohammed and the Qur’an” and consists of three subtitles. These subtitles are: “The Prophecy of Mohammed”, “Mohammed's Doctrine of Revelation” and “Tor Andrae's View on the Quran”. The third chapter is takes up Prophet Mohammed's religious message. The fourth chapter explains his struggle with the Quraish and his state administration under the title “Prophet Mohammed’s Political and Administrative Activities”. The subject of the fifth chapter is Prophet Mohammed’s personality. The sixth chapter is the evaluation and it is followed by the conclusion which ends the thesis. In the conclusion part of this study, a general evaluation have been made. The English, Turkish, German and Arabic books, articles, and encyclopedias and some internet websites have been made use of. When writing the thesis all efforts have been made to empathize and be as objective as possible. Even the smallest contribution this thesis may have on research in Islamic History or any other field of science and on the peace of humanity will give the writer much pleasure. It is also the wish of the writer that it will set an example for similar work.
