Abstract

This research was carried out in the experimental field and laboratories of Field Crops Department, Faculty of Ariculture, University of Ankara in 2000. The aim of this research was to determine yield and yield components of anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) by using four anise populations (Gölhisar, Karamanlı, Tefenni, Yeşilova) and four different sowing times. The experiment was designed on the basis of split plant of randomized blocks design with four replications. According to the this research, following traits were ranged as indicated: Seed yield 48.75-96.67 kg/da, plant height 48.50-52.75 cm, biological yield 190.56-350.56 kg/da, seed yield per plant 1.60-2.22 g, branch number 5.25-7.75, umbellet number 12.75- 15.50, 1000 seed weight 4.22-5.62 g and essential oil ratio 2.10-3.78 %. Regarding seed yield, the highest value was obtained in Karamanlı population with 74.33 and the lowest value recorded in Tefenni population with 60.86. 2002, 45 pages KEY WORDS: Anise, Pimpinella anisum L., sowing time, seed yield.
