Sustainable water ressources management and planning is pivotal for reaching appropriate levels of food-, energy- and water security in the Least Developed Countries in the Global South. Yet, sustainable water management and planning is constrained by the projected impacts of climate change and the lack of capacity of the LDCs to adapt and mitigate to climate change. Water technology can help to face this challenge, but this technology should be adapted to the local conditions in the LDCs. In this presentation, illustrations will be given on how low cost technologies can be deployed in LDCs to improve water ressources assessment and manage irrigation and waste water.
