Sciancalepore, Antonella
[UCL]
In the following paper, the author discusses the various configurations of the model of the warrior as a border-fighter in medieval literature. In particular, she investigates the role of the geographical border, the social border and the anthropological border in the construction of the identity of the warrior hero in Old French epic songs, with comparison references to Old Irish, Old Germanic and Byzantine texts.
