Abstract: The waveguide RF Wien filter is one of the key components of the JEDI project at the COoler SYnchrotron in Jülich. The driving circuit constitutes a fundamental part of the waveguide RF Wien filter. When running at the spin precession frequency, the driving circuit must ensure that the load impedance is set to the correct complex value so that the electric and magnetic fields are matched, leading to a vanishing Lorentz force during operation at high power levels up to 10 kW. This paper discusses the design, simulation, realization and performance analysis of the RF Wien filter driving circuit.
