Situándonos en la perspectiva de la Sociología de la literatura,
entendemos que las novelas no son solo producciones textuales, sino también
materiales. Para analizarlas, es necesario dar cuenta de las mediaciones que
intervienen para que un texto se convierta en un libro. En este marco, en el presente
artículo, haremos foco en las figuras de las editoriales y de los/as editores/as como
actores fundamentales del campo literario, en particular, de la edición de best sellers
juveniles. Nos interesará reconstruir la formación de la literatura juvenil dentro del
mercado editorial argentino y caracterizar los modos de edición de novelas juveniles
contemporáneas que circulan por fuera de las escuelas. A partir de la experiencia de
editores/as del sector, que relevamos en entrevistas en profundidad, analizaremos
sus perfiles como editores/as y sus formas de gestión editorial, así como las
interfaces entre las políticas editoriales y la formación de un nuevo público lector.
From the perspective of Sociology of literature, we understand that novels are not only textual productions but also material ones. To analyze them, it is necessary to attend to the mediations between a text and a book. In this article, we will focus on the publisher companies and the publishers as key actors in the literary field, in particular, in the edition of Young Adult literature. We will be interested in reconstructing the formation of Young Adult literature in the Argentinian publishing industry and characterize the ways contemporaries Young Adult novels, which circulate outside schools, are published. Also, we did in-depth interviews to publishers of this industry with the purpose of knowing their experiences and being able to analyze their profiles, the ways Young Adult literature is published and managed, and the relation between the publishing policies and the formation of a new reading public.
