Abstract

Photograph depicting a late 17th century caned settee from the Koopmans De Wet House. The legs, foot rails and arm supports are plain. The back has a shaped top rail and plain bottom rail filled in with plain slats. See description on p. 18 and Fig. 26 on p. 22 of the 1960 edition of "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa" by G. E. Pearse.
