El lèxic dels oficis a la documentació llatina de la Catalunya altmedieval

Abstract

[cat] Aquesta tesi doctoral, desenvolupada en el si del Glossarium Mediae Latinitatis Cataloniae (UB-CSIC), ofereix l’estudi lexicogràfic dels noms d’ofici que es testimonien a la documentació llatina escrita entre els segles IX i XII al territori corresponent al domini lingüístic del català, corpus format per més de 24.000 documents de caire notarial. El buidatge d’aquestes fonts ha permès de registrar un total de 196 veus, d’àmbits com l’artesania, el camp o la cavalleria, les quals es presenten sistemàticament en fitxes estructurades en una sèrie d’apartats a través dels quals es realitza una anàlisi exhaustiva de l’aspecte etimològic, semàntic, morfològic i evolutiu de la paraula. El lèxic compilat el formen termes heretats dels períodes del llengua llatina anteriors a l’Edat Mitjana, així com un elevat nombre d’innovacions semàntiques (vocables ja existents que incorporen noves accepcions) i lèxiques. Les darreres es divideixen entre neologismes i préstecs d’altres llengües, entre els quals cal destacar els catalanismes. La barreja del llatí i la parla romànica d’aquesta zona geogràfica fa dels textos estudiats una font essencial per al coneixement del català en el seu període preliterari que proporciona la datació més antiga de moltes paraules d’aquesta llengua.

[eng] This doctoral thesis, carried out as part of the Glossarium Mediae Latinitatis Cataloniae (UB-CSIC), offers the lexicographical study of the names of trade attested in Latin documents written between the 9th and the 12th centuries in the territories of the Catalan linguistic domain, a corpus made of more than 24.000 notarial documents. The analysis of these sources has allowed us to register a total of 196 lemmata of different areas such as craftwork, the countryside or cavalry. These words are presented systematically in well-structured entries through which we have conducted a comprehensive analysis in terms of etymology, semantics, morphology and evolution of the term. The lexis compiled consists of terms inherited from the different stages of the Latin language prior to the Middle Ages, as well as a considerable number of semantic (already existing words that incorporate new acceptations) and lexical innovations. The latter can be divided into neologisms and loanwords from other languages, among which Catalanisms stand out. The blend of Latin and the Romance language that takes place in this geographical area turns the analysed texts into a fundamental source for the knowledge of preliterary Catalan and provides us with the earliest date of a great deal of words.
