    • Access and use:The original accession donated by Cornelius Osgood in 1983 (Fallen Leaves drafts, April 1983-June 1983) is closed through the lifetime of Sui-ling Osgood or until January 1, 2022 whichever occurs first. Accession 2012-M-026 is open for research. Copyright is retained by Sui-Ling Osgood for materials authored or otherwise produced by Su-ling Osgood. After the lifetime of Sui-Ling Osgood or January 1, 2032, whichever comes first, copyright passes to Yale University. Copyright status for other collection materials is unknown.     • Biographical / Historical note:Cornelius Osgood was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, on March 20, 1905. He attended the University of Chicago, attaining the degree of Ph.B. in 1927 and Ph.D. in 1930. He married Harriett Ellen Keeney on September 25, 1930. The couple had two daughters before Harriett's death in 1962. On December 23, 1963, Osgood remarried, to Soo Sui-ling. Osgood was an ethnologist who worked as curator at various museums throughout the country, including the Yale Peabody Museum. He also authored several books about East Asia. Osgood died in January 1985.
