Scope and Contents
Photographs created by Marion Belanger, 2006-2012 and printed 2015 that document tectonic shifting of the North American Plate in California and Iceland. Images in the "Rift" component document the rising eastern edge of the North American Continental Plate where it meets the Eurasian Plate along the Mid-Atlantic Rift in Iceland and include views of geothermal energy projects and the built environment. Images in the "Fault" component represents the subsiding western edge of the North American Plate along the San Andreas Fault in California and depict the built environment adjacent to the fault.

Marion Belanger (born 1957)
Marion Belanger, Yale MFA 1990, is a photographer. Her work focuses on the cultural landscape, particularly where geology and the built environment intersect.
Processing Information
Collections are processed to a variety of levels, depending on the work necessary to make them usable, their perceived research value, the availability of staff, competing priorities, and whether or not further accruals are expected. The library attempts to provide a basic level of preservation and access for all collections, and does more extensive processing of higher priority collections as time and resources permit. Opening Hours
Access Information
The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
