소아 외래환자의 Ketamine마취에 관한 임상적 연구

Abstract

Ketamine hydrochloride, 5mgjkg, has been administered intramuscularly to children on 49 occasions in the out-patient operating room No serious side effects or complications have been encountered. Mild convulsion and vomiting occurred in five children, but did not reduce the acceptability of the drug In our hands it greatly reduced the pain and distress of children undergoing various surgical and medical procedures, particularly the fear which builds up when the children have to be placed on the operating table. It has also produced close to ideal conditions for the operator on nearly all occasions. and increased his e뻐ciency by reducing the emotional strain which occurs when doing surgical procedures to a crying and frightened child.
