Helminth parasites of small mammals (Insectivores and Rodents) on the Pityusic Island of Formentera (Balearic Archipelago).

Abstract
A study is made of the helminthfauna of all small mammal species inhabiting the Mediterranean island of Forrnentera (BalearicArchipelago, Spain): the insectivore Atelerix algirus (Erinaceidae) and the rodents Eliomys quercinus (Gliridae), Apodemus sylvaticus, Mus musculus and Rattus rattus (Muridae). The qualitative spectrums of the helminth species are updated, and the geographical enclaves in which the parasite species were recorded are detailed. Despite the homogeneous environmental characteristics of this relatively small island, there are several parasite species which show a presence restricted to a very few enclaves, whereas others are distributed throughout the whole or almost the whole island.
