Resumo
O trabalho trata dos atravessamentos da chamada cultura hacker na intersecção entre arte, ciência e tecnologia. Mais especificamente, investiga como certas tecnologias da internet comercial afetaram a produção artística-tecnológica das três últimas décadas. São analisados processos de artistas como Ricardo Dominguez, Olia Lialina, Brian Mackern e Zach Blas, sob a lente da Teoria Ator-Rede e da Teoria Queer. É levado em consideração, nas análises, como as tecnologias digitais afetam processos culturais e políticos, por exemplo no surgimento de novas formas de desobediência civil não-violenta. Processos culturais como o movimento #MeToo também são discutidos, como forma de localizar arte e cultura hacker no estado da arte de outros contextos artísticos, como o audiovisual. Também são apresentados e discutidos processos artísticos envolvendo tecnologias digitais de código aberto desenvolvidos pela autora do trabalho, e como eles foram afetados pela pandemia do COVID19. As conclusões apontam para uma necessidade de complexificar a visão sobre usuáries da internet e como consomem, se expressam e inspiram o funcionamento da arte e da internet comercial.
The paper deals with the crossings of the so-called hacker culture at the intersection between art, science and technology. More specifically, it investigates how certain technologies of the commercial internet have affected the artistic-technological production of the last three decades. Processes of artists such as Ricardo Dominguez, Olia Lialina, Brian Mackern and Zach Blas are analyzed, under the lens of Actor-Network Theory and Queer Theory. It takes into account how digital technologies affect cultural and political processes, for example in the emergence of new forms of non-violent civil disobedience. Cultural processes such as the #MeToo movement are also discussed, as a way to locate hacker art and culture in the state of the art of other artistic contexts, such as the audiovisual. Artistic processes involving open source digital technologies developed by the author of the paper are also presented and discussed, and how they have been affected by the COVID19 pandemic. The conclusions point to a need to complexify the view on internet users and how they consume, express themselves and inspire the functioning of art and the commercial internet.
