Öğretmen adaylarının seçmeli müze eğitimi dersine yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, sınıf o?ğretmeni adaylarının, o?ğretmen yetiştirme programında yer alan Müze Eğitimi dersine ilişkin go?rüşlerinin ortaya konulmasıdır. Araştırmada, Müze Eğitimi dersinin sınıf o?ğretmeni adaylarının mesleki gelişimlerine katkıları ve derslerde yaşanan sorunlara odaklanmıştır. Müze Eğitimi dersi, Ege U?niversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi I?lko?ğretim Bo?lümü Sınıf Öğretmenliği programı sekizinci do?neminde yer alan seçmeli bir derstir. Araştırmacı tarafından tasarlanan etkinlikler, dersi alan 14 go?nüllü o?ğretmen adayıyla birlikte gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın modeli, nitel araştırma yo?ntemlerinden durum çalışması olarak belirlenmiştir. Tasarlanan o?ğretim etkinliklerinin sonunda, o?ğrencilerin go?rüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Araştırma verileri, katılımcılarla gerçekleştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış go?rüşmelerle toplanmıştır. Go?rüşme do?kümleri araştırmacı tarafından alınarak içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Analizler sonucunda do?rt ana tema ve 22 alt temaya ulaşılmıştır. Uygulanan Seçmeli Müze Eğitimi dersinin o?ğretmen adaylarının müze eğitimine yo?nelik farkındalıklarını arttırdığı belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanında, mesleki, iletişimsel, yaratıcı, yenilikçi düşünme becerilerini, kültürel farkındalıklarını, entelektüel birikimlerini, o?z güvenlerini arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca eğlenerek o?ğrendikleri, yaşantısal o?ğrenmeyi yaşadıkları ortaya konmuştur. Son olarak, dersin seçmeli olması, o?ğrencilerin ekonomik sıkıntıları ve dersin saatinin az olması gibi sorunlar engelleyiciler olarak ifade edilmiştir.

The aim of the current study is to reveal pre-service primary school teachers’ views on Museum Education course which is an elective course on teacher training programs. Research is mainly focused on Museum Education Course’s contributions to pre-service teachers’ professional development and factors preventing the course’s success. Museum Education is an elective course which is offered on the 8th semester of Ege University College of Education’s Department of Elementary Education’s Primary Education Program. The researcher designed and conducted course activities with 14 voluntary pre-service teachers taking the course. This qualitative research is a case study. The researcher consulted to participants’ views at the end of the course activities. Research data was collected through individual semi-structured interviews with participants. The researcher transcribed the interviews and analyzed the data through content analysis. Analyses suggested 22 sub themes gathered around four main themes. The main finding of the research is the Museum Education course promoted participants awareness regarding museum education. Additionally, participants reported their professional skills, communication skills, creativeness, innovative thinking skills, cultural awareness, intellectual accumulations and self-confidences were augmented. Furthermore, experience-based course activities were informative and entertaining for the participants. Lastly, among the reported preventive factors were economic problems, limited course hours and elective stance of the course.
