Free gait generation with reinforcement learning for a six-legged robot
Erden, Mustafa Suphi; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal (Elsevier BV, 2008-03-31)
In this paper the problem of free gait generation and adaptability with reinforcement learning are addressed for a six-legged robot. Using the developed free gait generation algorithm the robot maintains to generate stable gaits according to the commanded velocity. The reinforcement learning scheme incorporated into the free gait generation makes the robot choose more stable states and develop a continuous walking pattern with a larger average stability margin. While walking in normal conditions with no ext...
Free and forced vibration of cross-ply laminated composite shallow arches
Khdeir, AA; Reddy, JN (1997-04-01)
A model for the dynamic behavior of a laminated composite shallow arch is developed from shallow shell theory. Linear equations of motion are derived for thin, moderately thick and thick arches. Free vibration of the arch is explored and exact natural frequencies of the third-order, second-order, first-order and classical arch theories are determined for various boundary conditions. A generalized modal approach is presented to solve the dynamic response of cross-ply laminated arches with arbitrary boundary ...
FREE-RADICAL MEDIATED INTERACTION OF ASCORBIC-ACID AND ASCORBATE/CU(II) WITH VIRAL AND PLASMID DNAS
ERDEM, G; ONER, C; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; KISAKUREK, D; OGUS, A (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-03-01)
Previous studies indicate that ascorbic acid, when combined with copper or iron cleaves several viral DNAs. In this study, we generated the ascorbate radical anion electrochemically in a simple chemical environment without the participation of a metal ion. This solution possesses viral DNA scission activity. The absence of catalytic metal ions [Fe (III) and Cu(II)] in the incubation medium was evidenced by metal chelating agents such as desferrioxamine and EDTA. The radical quenching at high EDTA concentrat...
Free flexural (or bending) vibration analysis of certain of stiffened composite plates or panels in flight vehicle structures
Javanshir Habestan, Jaber; Yüceoğlu, Umur; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2010)
In this study, the “Free Flexural (or Bending) Vibrations of Stiffened Plates or Panels” are investigated in detail. Two different Groups of “Stiffened Plates” will be considered. In the first group, the “Type 4” and the “Type 6” of “Group I” of the “Integrally-Stiffened and/or Stepped-Thickness Plate or Panel Systems” are theoretically analyzed and numerically solved by making use of the “Mindlin Plate Theory”. Here, the natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes, up to the sixth mode, are obtai...
