In general, a standard is described as an established norm or a requirement list. Standards can be developed as formal documents to establish uniform engineering and technical criteria. The standardization process may be achieved through an edict or it may involve the formal consensus of technical experts. Today, in the growing global technical market, standardization is still a developing process, although it has a high and increasing maturity level. The new phase of standardization of today is getting more and more to integration and communization of standards for several diverse areas. In today's emerging space industry, the countries and even organizations within the same country have very different, detailed and well-documented standards. Some of these standards are almost the same or strongly similar. While on the contrary, some of them may propose totally different perspective of solution to a common problem. This quantity and the quality level of the international standards for space market all over the world may be an indicator of the exigency of harmonizing and integrating them. The study presented in this paper aims to mine some of the very well-known and applied standards in space market all over the world, search for the possibility to come up with a common space standards framework, which may constitute a common technical language in this area in order to support international cooperation, performing secure space applications, space policy making and to contribute for the space for a developing world by bridging the developed space nations and emerging space nations.

An improved organization method for association rules and a basis for comparison of methods
Jabarnejad, Masood; Köksal, Gülser; Department of Industrial Engineering (2010)
In large data, set of mined association rules are typically large in number and hard to interpret. Some grouping and pruning methods have been developed to make rules more understandable. In this study, one of these methods is modified to be more effective and more efficient in applications including low thresholds for support or confidence, such as association analysis of product/process quality improvement. Results of experiments on benchmark datasets show that the proposed method groups and prunes more r...
Investigating suitability of software process and metrics for statistical process control
Tarhan, Ayca; Demirörs, Onur (2006-01-01)
The application of statistical process control (SPC) techniques for software is rare due to such requirements as high maturity, rational sampling, and effective metric selection. Existing studies report results from their own implementations and provide suggestions for success. In this paper, we explain an approach used for assessing the suitability of software process and metrics for starting SPC implementation via control charts. The approach includes guidance to identify rational samples of a process as ...
Conceptual Challenges in Coordinating Theoretical and Data-centered Estimates of Probability
Konold, Cliff; Madden, Sandra; Pollatsek, Alexander; Pfannkuch, Maxine; Wild, Chris; Ziedins, Ilze; Finzer, William; Horton, Nicholas J.; Kazak, Sibel (2011-01-01)
A core component of informal statistical inference is the recognition that judgments based on sample data are inherently uncertain. This implies that instruction aimed at developing informal inference needs to foster basic probabilistic reasoning. In this article, we analyze and critique the now-common practice of introducing students to both "theoretical" and "experimental" probability, typically with the hope that students will come to see the latter as converging on the former as the number of observatio...
Analysis of Multiobjective Algorithms for the Classification of Multi-Label Video Datasets
Karagoz, Gizem Nur; Yazıcı, Adnan; Dokeroglu, Tansel; Cosar, Ahmet (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020)
It is of great importance to extract and validate an optimal subset of non-dominated features for effective multi-label classification. However, deciding on the best subset of features is an NP-Hard problem and plays a key role in improving the prediction accuracy and the processing time of video datasets. In this study, we propose autoencoders for dimensionality reduction of video data sets and ensemble the features extracted by the multi-objective evolutionary Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm and t...
Exploring perceptions of web accessibility: a survey approach
Yesilada, Yeliz; Brajnik, Giorgio; Vigo, Markel; Harper, Simon (Informa UK Limited, 2015-02-01)
The equality of access - accessibility - is difficult to quantify, define, or agree upon. Our previous work analysed the responses of web accessibility specialists in regard to a number of pre-defined definitions of accessibility. While uncovering much, this analysis did not allow us to quantify the communities' understanding of the relationship accessibility has with other domains and assess how the community scopes accessibility. In this case, we asked over 300 people, with an interest in accessibility, t...
