SINGLE PRODUCTION OF NEW GAUGE Z' BOSONS AND LEPTOQUARKS AT FUTURE E+E- COLLIDERS

1990-10-01
The production of single scalar (fermionic) leptoquarks and new gauge Z' bosons in e+ e- collisions at square-root s = 2 TeV (the CLIC project) is studied in the Weizsacker-Williams approximation. It is shown that the cross section for these processes is large and completely detectable if the total luminosity is L = 10(33) cm-2.sec-1. Explicit analytic expressions are obtained for the visible electron spectrum in all cases. It follows from the analysis that study of the visible electron spectra is a very effective tool for determining the masses of leptoquarks and new Z' bosons

EQUIVALENT ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF LATTICES USING NON-UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED POINT CLOUD
Yormaz, Engin Ege; Tuncay, Kağan; Department of Civil Engineering (2022-11-22)
A method based on the equivalency of strain energy density is proposed for finding the elastic parameters of non-uniformly distributed lattice models in 2D with a Poisson’s ratio of 1/3. Lattice members are assumed to carry only normal force. Hence, the elasticity modulus times the area is the only defining parameter for each lattice member. The method is implemented in MATLAB and it is tested with regularly structured lattices whose solutions can be calculated exactly. A “User-Friendly Lattice Model P...
Steady-state modeling of a phase-shift PWM parallel resonant converter
Iskender, Ires; Uctug, Yildurum; Ertan, Hulusi Bülent (2006-01-01)
Purpose - To derive an analytical model for a dc-ac-dc parallel resonant converter operating in lagging power factor mode based on the steady-state operation conditions and considering the effects of a high-frequency transformer.
Non-parametric and semi-parametric regional modeling of the ionospheric vertical total electron content using ground-based GPS observations
Durmaz, Murat; Karslıoğlu, Mahmut Onur; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2013)
Different global and regional models have been proposed for modeling of Vertical Total Electron Content(VTEC). Basis functions such as Spherical Harmonics and tensor products of univariate B-Splines are used for global and regional modeling respectively. The coefficients of the basis functions and Differential Code Biases (DCB) of satellites and receivers are treated as parameters and estimated from geometry-free linear combinations. In this work, a new approach based on non-parametric and semi-parametric m...
Real-Time Detection of Interharmonics and Harmonics of AC Electric Arc Furnaces on GPU Framework
Uz-Logoglu, Eda; Salor, Ozgul; Ermiş, Muammer (2019-11-01)
In this paper, a method based on the multiple synchronous reference frame analysis is recommended and implemented to detect time-varying harmonics and interharmonics of rapidly fluctuating asymmetrical industrial loads. The experimental work has been carried out on a typical three-phase alternating current arc furnace installation. In the recommended method, the reference frame is rotated in both directions at speeds corresponding to the positive and negative sequences of all harmonics and all interharmonic...
Single vector leptoquark production in e(+)e(-) and gamma e colliders
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Pak, NK (1996-10-01)
We consider the single vector leptoquark (LQ) production at e(+)e(-) and gamma e colliders for two values of the center-of-mass energy root s = 500 GeV and root s = 1090 GeV, in a model-independent framework. We find that the cross sections for the single gauge and nongauge vector LQ productions are almost equal. The discovery limit for a single vector LQ production is obtained for both cases. It is shown that in e(+)e(-) collisions the single vector LQ production is more favorable than the vector LQ pair p...
