The optimization of a gypsum-based composite material
Arıkan, Mehmet Fırat (2002-11-01)
Contemporary requirements for gypsurn-based composite materials (GBCM) for rendering or plastering include controlled setting time, good workability, sag resistance, high compressive and flexural strength, perfect bond to concrete or brick, water resistance, and improved heat and noise insulation. The application of a number of chemical admixtures and mineral additives was found to be necessary to provide the required performance for gypsum-based materials. Among the necessary chemical admixtures are the fo...
The Optimization of Dilute Acid Hydrolysis of Cotton Stalk in Xylose Production
AKPINAR, ÖZLEM; Levent, Okan; Bostanci, Seyda; Bakir, Ufuk; Yılmaz, Levent (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-01-01)
Cotton stalk, a lignocellulosic waste material, is composed of xylose that can be used as a raw material for production of xylitol, a high-value product. There is a growing interest in the use of lignocellulosic wastes for conversion into various chemicals because of their low cost and the fact that they are renewable and abundant. The objective of the study was to determine the effects of H(2)SO(4) concentration, temperature, and reaction time on the production of sugars (xylose, glucose, and arabinose) an...

The analysis of B-d ->(eta, eta ')l(+)l(-) decays in the standard model
Erkol, G; Turan, Gürsevil (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2003-05-01)
We study the differential branching ratio, the branching ratio and the CP-violating asymmetry for the exclusive B-d --> (eta,eta')l(+)l(-) decays in the standard model. We deduce the B-d --> (eta, eta') form factors from the form factors of B --> pi available in the literature, by using the SU(3)(F) symmetry. We observe that these decay modes, which are within the reach of forthcoming B-factories, are very promising for observing CP-violation.
The Analysis of Inhomogeneous Barrier Height in In/SnTe/Si/Ag Diode
Güllü, Hasan Hüseyin; YILDIZ, DİLBER ESRA (2018-12-01)
SnTe thin film layer was fabricated by magnetron sputtering technique on n-Si substrate, and the electrical properties of the In/SnTe/Si/Ag diode structure was investigated by using temperature dependent forward bias current-voltage (I-V) measurements. The main diode parameters were calculated according to the thermionic emission (TE) model and they were found in an abnormal behavior with change in temperate in which zero-bias barrier height (Phi(B0)) increases and ideality factor (n) decreases with increas...
