İçinde bulunduğumuz küresel salgın süreci, uzaktan birlikte çalışma pratiğini zorunlu kıl makla beraber salgın dünyası distopyası konusunda tasarım için motivasyon oluşturmaktadır. Kurgusal tasarım çalışmalarının ortak noktası “... olsa ne olurdu” (what-if) senaryolarıdır. Bu senaryolar, kurgusal bir zaman ve mekân yaratarak, gelecek için olası ya da günümüz için al ternatif çözümler sunacak fikirlerin üretilmesine olanak sağlar. “... olsa ne olurdu” senaryoları birçok bilim kurgu filmine ve bu filmlerde yer alan kurgusal tasarımlara da olanak sağlamıştır: Bilincimizi başka bir evrende yaşayan bir varlığa aktarabilseydik ne olurdu? (Avatar, 2009); Gördüğümüz, dokunduğumuz, kokladığımız, duyduğumuz, tattığımız her şey enformasyon ol saydı ne olurdu? (Matrix, 1999); Robotlar dünyayı işgal etseydi ne olurdu? (The Terminator, 1984); Dünya öylesine kirlenseydi ve insanlar bu kirlilikten dolayı başka gezegenlere gitmek zorunda kalsalardı ne olurdu? (Wall-E, 2008). Yaşadığımız küresel salgın süreci de bahsi geçen filmlere benzer bir senaryo içermektedir: Dünya genelinde temas yolu ile kolaylıkla yayılan öldürücü bir virüs olsaydı ne olurdu? Çalıştay kapsamında uygulanacak olan kurgusal tasarım yöntemleri ile gruplar halinde küresel salgın dünyası için eskizler yapılarak alternatif çözüm ler geliştirilecektir. Üretilen çıktılar, çalıştayın diğer katılımcıları ve yürütücüleri ile paylaşılıp değerlendirilecektir.
