IsoPOPdAnnualEagle Web Interactive: Interactive software to understand how elements in the annual population matrix of Bald Eagle influence the asymptotic population growth rate

Other Titles

Abstract

Population matrix models are used for wildlife population inventory and to guide management. Although these models have been applied to nearly 8,000 species around the globe, little exists to help managers understand the mathematical interworkings of these equations. The IsoPOPdAnnualEagle app allows users to identify how annual vital rates interact to influence the asymptotic growth rate of Bald Eagle. The annual matrix for Bald Eagle contains four elements that represent transitions between breeding and non-breeding stages. The user can alter any of these elements to identify if and how the long term growth rate would respond.
