Análise e otimização das rotas de importação de uma empresa multinacional de transporte de mercadorias

Abstract

A presente dissertação foi desenvolvida em parceria com a empresa BRUNOTIR Transportes Lda., no âmbito do Mestrado em Engenharia de Sistemas da Universidade do Minho. A empresa enquadra-se no ramo dos transportes rodoviários de mercadorias e possui uma frota de 85 veículos pesados que realizam diariamente rotas internacionais com vista à importação e exportação de mercadorias. A dissertação terá como base uma revisão bibliográfica relativa ao tema, seguida de uma análise da organização e da sua atividade, com reconhecimento dos principais problemas verificados durante a fase inicial do projeto. O principal objetivo desta dissertação é a otimização das rotas de importação da BRUNOTIR Transportes Lda. Para isso, através da utilização do MATLAB e de uma toolbox denominada MATLOG, construiu-se um sistema de planeamento automático de rotas de transporte, com o propósito de maximizar a taxa de ocupação dos veículos e minimizar os custos de cada operação. Por fim, são apresentados os resultados obtidos com a elaboração dos modelos e as indicações de trabalho futuro. Pretende-se, com isto, melhorar o projeto proposto correspondendo, o máximo possível, às necessidades reais da empresa.

This dissertation was developed in partnership with the BRUNOTIR Transports Lda. company, in the scope of the MSc in Systems Engineering of the University of Minho. The company’s activity is the road transportation of merchandise and has a fleet of 85 heavy vehicles that perform daily international routes in order to import and export goods. The dissertation was based on a bibliographic review of the subject, followed by an analysis of the organization and its activity, with recognition of the main problems verified during the initial phase of the project. The main objective of this dissertation was the optimization of the company's import routes. For this, using MATLAB and a toolbox called MATLOG, an automatic transportation routes planning system was built, with the purpose of maximizing the vehicle occupancy rate and minimizing the costs of each operation. Finally, the results obtained with the elaboration of the models and indications for future work are presented. It is intended, with this, to improve the proposed project corresponding, as much as possible, to the real needs of the company.
