Identificação, avaliação e atendimento das altas habilidades ou superdotação : uma análise crítica

Abstract

Resumo: Este estudo pretendeu analisar criticamente como ocorre o processo de identificação, avaliação e atendimento educacional especializado ao estudante superdotado e como ele se percebe no contexto escolar e familiar. Para tanto, realizamos uma revisão bibliográfica nas obras de Renzulli, Gardner e Sternberg, autores que atualmente se destacam pela elaboração de suas teorias com diferentes definições de inteligência e habilidade acima da média. Na sequência, apresentamos uma análise dos principais avanços legais no Brasil acerca da defesa dos direitos da pessoa superdotada ao longo da história, com destaque ao estado do Paraná, lócus de nossa pesquisa. Apresentamos também uma breve análise teórica sobre como o processo de identificação, avaliação e atendimento educacional especializado ocorre nos Estados Unidos e em Portugal, com o objetivo de conhecer outras práticas realizadas internacionalmente. Finalmente, analisamos um estudo de caso revelando como este mesmo processo ocorre atualmente dentro de uma escola pública no estado do Paraná, descrevendo os avanços e as fragilidades do caminho. Por fim, discorremos sobre as mudanças que ocorreram na vida do estudante envolvido no estudo e de que forma a identificação, a avaliação e o atendimento especializado contribuem para o desenvolvimento de seu potencial e de seu crescimento enquanto sujeito. Abstract: This study intends to critically analyze how the process of identification, evaluation and specialized educational assistance to gifted students occurs and how they perceive themselves in the school and family context. To this end, we performed a bibliographic review on the works of Renzulli, Gardner and Sternberg, authors who currently stand out for the elaboration of their theories with different definitions of intelligence and skill above the average. In the sequence, we present an analysis of the main legal advances in Brazil regarding the defense of the rights of the gifted person throughout history, with emphasis on the state of Paraná, the locus of our research. We also present a brief theoretical analysis of how the process of identification, evaluation and specialized educational assistance occurs in the United States and Portugal, with the aim of learning about other practices carried out internationally. Finally, we analyzed a case study revealing how this same process currently occurs within a public school in the state of Paraná, describing the progress and weaknesses of the path. We also talked about the changes that occurred in the life of the student involved in the study and how the identification, evaluation and specialized assistance contribute to the development of his potential and his growth as a subject.
