Correspondência Flaubert-Sand : seleção e tradução para uma leitura dramática

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma seleção de cartas da correspondência trocada entre Gustave Flaubert e George Sand, escritores franceses do século XIX, bem como a tradução das cartas selecionadas com vistas a uma leitura dramática do conjunto. Para esta seleção foram escolhidas cartas que contemplam alguns eixos temáticos da correspondência, que dizem respeito não só à discussão dos dois escritores sobre literatura e teatro, ainda que estes talvez possam ser considerados temas mais centrais, mas também sobre temas como, por exemplo, a amizade entre eles, os "tormentos do estilo", de Flaubert, a forma como os escritores se relacionavam com a natureza, além da homenagem que cada um fez ao outro dedicando Flaubert um conto a Sand, e Sand a Flaubert, um romance.

Abstract: This work focuses on a selection of letters from the correspondence exchanged between Gustave Flaubert and George Sand, French writers of the 19th century, considering the translation of the selected letters with a view to a dramatic reading of the set. For this selection, the letters were chosen by the contemplation of some thematic segment of the correspondence, which concern not only the discussion of the two writers on literature and theater, although these may perhaps be considered main themes, but also on subjects such as, for example, friendship among them, Flaubert's "torments of style", the way they related to nature, and the homage each paid to the other by dedicating Flaubert a short story to Sand, and Sand to Flaubert, a novel.
