Abstract

In this vintage photograph, two employees of the asphalt company load pitch onto a railroad cart used to transport the raw material to the refinery for processing. Another two employees assist with this operation. Three baskets and an axe lie on the Pitch Lake which resembles a ploughed-up, muddy field. There are trees on the horizon.
