[en] Several seal impressions from the Ville II of Mari (EDIII – Early Akkad periods), published by D. Beyer in 2007, have a cartouche inscribed. Improvements about the reading of owner’s name and / or the layout of the decor can be proposed for some of these impressions, especially from ‘Chantier H’ and ‘Chantier F’.
A new view of the decor of the cylinder-seal owned by the wife of the ‘EN of Mari’, documented by impressions from ‘Chantier H’, will be considered. Then, the name of some ‘servants of the girl’ known by impressions of their cylinder-seal, discovered in the ‘Chantier H’, can be upgraded. From ‘Chantier F’ (Ville II level), only one seal impression with a cartouche inscribed has been discovered. Through news pictures of sealing, it seems possible to read the name and function of the owner of the cylinder-seal.
